Tolerance
Humans are incredibly self-absorbed animals. We think that being human is special and makes us important. And tribalism makes us think that our tribe is better than the other tribes.
But the truth is that we share a planet with each other and with billions of other creatures. Every living organism tries to survive and reproduce. Every living organism works to get what it wants and needs. Every living organism is the hero of its own story.
To this end, the heart of wisdom and what can elevate us as a species is tolerance. Tolerance for ideas. Tolerance for goals. Tolerance for world views.
But tolerance is not and can not be unconditional. Tolerance is not and can not be granted for the intolerant. And tolerance is not and can not turn a blind eye to evil actors and actions.
