Claude Revived My Novel

I’ve been practicing using Claude as an “expert book editor” and it’s eye-opening.

I wrote a 75,000 word novel about 20 years ago that was still in first draft form.

Claude has helped me find plot weaknesses, places where the characters need to be built out more, passages that serve no purpose, and even critical events where the emotion or build-up I’m trying to create doesn’t quite land right.

To be honest, it feels more real and human than the conversations I had about the book with my dad 20 years ago…and he was a seasoned English teacher and amazing writer.

Maybe when I’m done I’ll make another run at getting it published. The first time around it was rejected from every publisher I submitted it to. Who knows? Claude could be my good luck charm….
